"Miss Meme is by far my most favorite person to work with. I've learned so much about acting & projecting my voice from her; she was the first person to teach me how to build a character, how to belt notes I didn't know I could reach, and so much more. Having the privilege of working with her is a true blessing. If you want to grow as a performer, she is the person you want to learn from. Working with her partner Mrs. Christina has been equally as wonderful; her choreography is crowd effective & fun to learn. Mrs. Debbie & Mrs. Sharyn, the makeup and costume geniuses behind Miss Meme's shows, are wonderful women who are amazing to work with behind the scenes. These women have been incredibly fun to know in my journey through learning to sell a show!!"

"I had the best time working with Meme & Christina! Meme taught me so much about acting. I'd never had any previous experience before, and she brought something out in me that I never knew I had. My voice matured so much while working with her. She is such a great performer and friend. Mrs. Christina has a bright, fun spirit that really motivates you. It had been 4 years since I'd danced and she reminded me why I fell in love with it before. Her choreography was awesome, and totally gave something special to our show. I now want to go back to dance at the Dance Theatre of Jacksonville, where I know there'll be beautiful choreography. I didn't get the chance to work too much with Mrs. Sharyn, but the energy she had with us all was incredible. She really got into what she was doing and made our experience even better. I enjoyed every single minute of working on our production and I'm thrilled to do more. These ladies have given me something that I intend to explore for the rest of my life... musical theatre."

"I played Bobo in A Raisin in The Sun. I was also in two other plays Meme directed. She is the best at picking the right person for each part. It's like she sees the character in us. She brings the character out of us on stage with words of encouragement like,"You can give me more";" Please stay in character", and "I need MORE ENERGY from everyone! MORE ENERGY!" As she directs the actors, the chemistry and timing begins to form. Meme brings her A game to every play. It makes you want to do your best and more."

"It was such a wonderful experience to work with Meme Simmons in her
production of A Raisin in the Sun. I was cast as Beneatha Younger.
From the beginning I could see the professionalism, dedication, and
passion from Meme. As a director she really has all of the knowledge
and experience that really takes her productions to the next level! I
have learned so much from working with Meme that will help me continue
to grow as an Actor, and all around performer. Meme would always give
notes on what we could do to develop our character, and she really
helped everyone see their full potential. This experience has truly
been a blessing for me. When I first moved to Jacksonville, NC a few
months before auditions for A Raisin in the Sun, I was looking for an
opportunity like this to perform, and continue to grow on the stage.
I was extremely happy to hear about this theatre company, and I was so
impressed with the entire team! From makeup, to costumes, to the
behind the scenes, this production company is Awesome!! Jacksonville,
North Carolina is extremely lucky to have such a talented and
outstanding director, Ms. Meme Simmons, as well as her amazing
theatre company right here at its finger tips!"
